About Us
Parent Information and Daily Routine
Choosing where to leave your child is not a small decision. This page sets out what an ordinary day looks like here, so you know what you are choosing before you visit.
Why choose us
A day at Deba Daycare
Doors open at 7:30 in the morning. Children settle with free play while everyone arrives. Breakfast, then a mix of activity time and floor play, with letters, numbers and colors worked in for the toddlers and preschoolers. Outdoor time in the backyard in the morning when the weather allows. Lunch, then a rest period, with infants on their own schedule rather than ours. Afternoons are stories, colouring and play until pick up by 5:30.
Meals
Breakfast, lunch and snacks are included. Infants have fresh pureed fruit and vegetables or Gerber, whichever you prefer, and your own formula or breast milk. Older children eat pasta, sandwiches, rice, pizza and similar, with crackers and goldfish at snack time. Tell us about any allergy before your child’s first day and we will work around it.
How we keep in touch
Deba is the person you speak to. Not a front desk, not an app that nobody reads. If something happens during the day you hear about it that day.
Your child's first week
Most children take a few days to settle, and a short first day helps. You are welcome to call and check in. Bring the items listed on the enrollment page before day one so nothing is missing on the morning.
Group size
We are licensed for up to 12 children at any one time, across all ages. That is the whole reason a home daycare feels different from a center, and it is not something we will grow out of
