How much does daycare cost in Annandale?
Rates depend on your child’s age, the days you need, and whether you want full time or part time care, so we talk them through when you visit. There is a one time application fee of $200 for the first child and $150 for a second child from the same family, which holds the place.
What are your opening hours?
We are open Monday to Friday, 7:30 in the morning until 5:30 in the afternoon. We are closed at weekends.
Are you licensed?
How many children do you care for?
Up to 12 children at any one time, across all ages, in a small mixed age group. It is a home, not a center, and the same two people are here every day.
Do you open at weekends?
No. We are open Monday to Friday only, from 7:30 in the morning until 5:30 in the afternoon. We are closed at weekends and on public holidays.
Do you provide meals?
Yes. Breakfast, lunch and snacks are included. Infants have fresh pureed fruit and vegetables or Gerber, whichever you prefer, and parents bring their own formula or breast milk. Tell us about any allergy before the first day.
What should I bring on the first day?
A birth certificate, a copy of both parents’ driver’s license, diapers and wipes, a blanket, a pacifier if your child uses one, two sippy cups or bottles, plastic and small bibs, spare clothes, diaper rash cream and baby powder. We also ask each family for two rolls of paper towels and a box of tissues each month.
Can I visit before I decide?
Yes, and we would rather you did. Call or send a message and we will arrange a time for you to see the rooms, the backyard, and meet the people who would be looking after your child. Current openings.
What is the difference between a home daycare and a daycare center?
A home daycare is a licensed family home with a small group and the same carers everyday.A center is larger, with children grouped by age and staff who change between rooms and shifts. Both are regulated. Which suits your child is a personal decision, and it is worth visiting one of each before you choose.
What ages do you take?
We enroll children from newborn to the age of 5, in a small mixed age group.
What payment methods do you accept?
Payment is by check. You can choose weekly, bi-weekly or monthly, and monthly means every four weeks. Payment is due in full even during absences, holiday closings and vacation.
What are drop off and pick up like?
Parents drop off and collect, and sign their child in and out each day. Late pick up is charged at $5 for every five minutes.
What paperwork do I need before my child starts?
A current immunization record and a physician’s examination on file, a birth certificate, and a copy of both parents’ driver’s license. All paperwork must be in before the first day.
How much notice do I need to give if we leave?
One month, given on the first of the month. Leaving mid-month means the rest of that month is still payable.
Do I need an appointment to visit?
Yes. Call or send a message and we will arrange a time. On the visit you collect the paperwork, see the rooms your child would use, and talk through rates.
Who will be looking after my child?
Deba Ehsan and Ms. Linda, the same two people every day. Deba holds a Fairfax County license and a State of Virginia license and is CPR, first aid and medication administration certified. Ms. Linda is CPR and first aid certified and trains through Fairfax County’s Office for Children.
